There is an entire set of tools you could choose to work with when creating and taking care of a Bonsai tree.
One important advice: use Bonsai specific tools. Usual gardening tools are not so good and, more, will make your work a lot harder, with worse results. You can find good tools in some stores online. Remember that cheaper tools aren’t always the best, but at least will help you start.
A complete set of tools should contain the following:
- a narrow cutter;
- a wide cutter;
- a pair of concave pliers;
- a Jin pair of pliers;
- tweezers;
- a Bonsai brush;
- a pair of pliers for wires;
- a root rake;
- shovels (3 different sizes);
- a brass or steel trowel;
- a little mobile saw;
- a carving knife;
- a watering can with a long neck and a delicate “shower”.
For a beginner, a simple Bonsai cutter might do, but be prepared to get more as soon as you start getting better.
Some more materials you might need:
- several types of soil for Bonsai trees;
- several sized wire for Bonsai;
- plastic bags for Bonsai;
- fertilizers for Bonsai;
- grafting wax/glue;
- some Bonsai pots.
Well, all we have to say now is: Good Luck!
