The Skewed Trunk (Shakan) style is often used because you can actually use it with any type of tree you might want to.
The Bonsai trees may have a thicker or a thinner trunk. If it is possible, the root should be visible, to give the viewer the impression of a tree that was blown out of the ground by a storm.
