In Japan, people usually reserve a special, nice-looking, place for their Bonsai trees. Usually, you will see their only lonesome trees.
A Tokonoma is a little cupboard of 15-24inches/40-60cm. The back wall is often covered in silk with an image, a soft image that would not be too obvious. On the sides, right and left, the Tokonoma has a wooden profile or a bamboo frame.
The Bonsai trees placement is a flat cupboard with a big surface on which you should not put anything aside the Bonsai tree. Well, you could add a stylish statue or a nice stone, just to add a little more touch.
